The window is 0 days. After that Sedge Field archives. Diligence does not reopen as a live conversation.

Sedge Field — A system of record for private-credit funds and desks: tapes, RFQs, or covenants that update when a borrower files. The buyers already have a book. This is plumbing, not a venue that matches strangers.

Closed on this board. Any capital event was completed with the issuer’s own providers. RCA Pad took 0%.

Closed. The live conversation is over. The pack remains as archive.

Diligence, not a prospectus. RCA Pad does not allocate, take orders, or close funding. If this company raises, it raises with its own counsel.

The wedge

Bps on facilities on the tape

The wedge is the shared drive: marks, covenants and RFQs still live in email.

Why the desk took it

A real job, not a ticker.

Retail was never in the deck. Rare.

Traction

2 named pilots (redacted).

Founded 2021, headquartered in Brussels. 2 named pilots on file (identities redacted in public). 17 nodes or connected surfaces reported. Desk diligence score 85/100. Four origination desks posting into a closed tape. Architecture says keys / title / NAV liability sit with a named licensed party — not Sedge Field.

Next 12 months

Ten live facilities or this is still a lab.

Closed RFQ wires do this slowly. Sedge Field does it as a record. They sell a fee the customer already pays a slower vendor for. TAM is that invoice, not a token float.

The brief

How a serious reader should hold this.

Most Collateral records decks start with a market size. This one starts with a job: a person at a licensed firm, a record they cannot currently prove, and a calendar that does not wait for a proposed US rule. The calendar is the window. The window is the scarce thing.

The bet is narrow. A named Brussels buyer already has budget for this invoice. Sedge Field wins if it is cheaper than the internal build and cleaner than the protocol pitch. It loses if a founder later wants a public book. The window is the time you have to decide which it is.

A sentence went public and came down in under an hour. Claire Santos treated the kill as an operating skill, not a PR event. Files that cannot do this do not stay listed.

From ops

Fixed fee. Deposit to start. 0% of proceeds. Token-only pay is declined. Percentage of raise is declined.

From the pilot

US persons are outside the audience. A form that asks “are you accredited?” without verification is not an exemption.

From the screen

A dual-control drill exists on paper. Production evidence is the next artefact, not a tweet.

The window

Miss this and you read the archive.

A later reader gets the same PDF. They do not get the same access.

Counsel hours on file: enough that a later reader can tell this was not improvised.

Read it once, properly, while the number is still green. Then decide.

Not the incumbent brand. Sedge Field sells the job the brand will not staff.

The bet

Why this company exists.

The wedge is the shared drive: marks, covenants and RFQs still live in email.

The wedge is the shared drive: marks, covenants and RFQs still live in email.

Allocators want daily marks and covenant visibility. Banks want to originate without building a chain team. The first honest tape that does not pretend to be an exchange will be paid for as software.

Private credit AUM is measured in trillions. The software take-rate is small. The switching cost, once a tape is the record, is not.

Versus the field

L2 wrappers are cheaper. They are also a different perimeter — and declined here. Sedge Field is priced as software against an invoice that already exists.

Brussels being the city does not make local retail a default audience. Communications capable of inducing investment activity still have a promotions problem.

How it works

  1. 01A loan or covenant event is written once
  2. 02Permissioned counterparties see what they are allowed to see
  3. 03Marks and RFQs stay inside named desks
  4. 04No public order book, no retail
  5. 05Default and amendment events are first-class, not a PDF in a side channel
  6. 06Exceptions post back into the customer’s existing case system — no side spreadsheet.

Operating week

What “in market” actually looks like.

  1. WedCounselPerimeter diffs. If the site drifted from the memo, the site moves — not the memo.
  2. SunOwnersWho can decide messaging and budget on a recorded line. If the answer is nobody, stop.
  3. MonClaimsEvery public sentence checked against the register. Anything extra is unpublished.
  4. ThuCustomerNamed pilot (redacted) sees the same record the auditor saw.

The wedge

Why this one, not the other one.

They sell
Bps on facilities on the tape
Who pays
Four origination desks posting into a closed tape.
Unit economics
They sell a fee the customer already pays a slower vendor for. TAM is that invoice, not a token float.
Moat on file
Administrator of record has signed a dual-control letter.
Switching cost
The customer’s auditor has seen this book. Switching means a new auditor conversation.
Vs the comps
Closed RFQ wires do this slowly. Sedge Field does it as a record.
Why we listed it
Retail was never in the deck. Rare.

Next twelve months

What has to be true.

Ten live facilities or this is still a lab.

Architecture says keys / title / NAV liability sit with a named licensed party — not Sedge Field.

They have not asked us to run a sale. That ask would close the file.

Risks

What can kill it.

The one that actually kills it

The named customer is a letter of intent

Pilots that cannot be named, even redacted, are theatre. One paying seat that an auditor has seen is worth more than a waitlist of a short list.

Marketplace slip

The moment this looks like a public book, it is a venue. This pad will not list that.

Data rights

Who owns the tape when a fund leaves? If that is unsigned, the enterprise value is a conversation.

Credit cycle

A default cluster will test whether the product is a record or a reputation.

Retail

Retail is prohibited. Any ‘access token’ story is a different company.

Data rights on exit

If a fund leaves and the tape stays, who owns the history? Unsigned, the enterprise value is a conversation.

Incumbent feature

The administrator, CCP, scheme or custodian can ship this as a checkbox. Sedge Field has to be cheaper or faster before that happens.

Ask these next

  1. 01Who can unpublish a public sentence in 24 hours, by name?
  2. 02Which incumbent can copy this in a quarter, and what would they have to migrate?
  3. 03Is the waitlist demand for a product, or a queue for a coin?
  4. 04If RCA Pad disappeared tomorrow, could the customer still run the job?
  5. 05Which geography is actually locked, and which is a hope?
  6. 06Where do keys, title, or NAV liability sit — and is that person licensed?

Who can decide

Claire Santos came in named. The team is not a handle. Sedge Field Ltd exists, founded 2021, headquartered in Brussels. Anonymity would have been an automatic decline.

A second counterparty writing into the record is the only network effect that counts. One customer is a consultancy. Two is a market.
