Data-room planning before the first public sentence
If the evidence is not in the room, it should not be on the internet. A launch OS that starts with a homepage is starting at the wrong end of the file.
The Desk · Operating notes, RCA Pad · London
Public language is a view on a room. If the room is empty — no entity papers, no explorer, no engagement letter, no counsel of record, no named approvers — the homepage is fiction. We plan the room first, even when the founder would like a hero line by Friday.

The room is upstream of the thread
A data room, in this house, is not a fundraising theatre with a watermark. It is the indexed set of artefacts that make claims possible. Entity. Team. Product. Security. Legal posture. Token documentation if any. Audience definition. Brand. Approval matrix. If a sentence on the internet points at something, that something lives in the room or the sentence is withdrawn.
Teams invert this. They write the site, then scramble for PDFs when a counterparty asks. The scramble produces the worst artefacts: undated decks, “draft audit” slide screenshots, counsel quotes without counsel. Diligence is where folklore goes to be photographed. We would rather be boring a month earlier.
The Sprint intake is a room-building exercise even when we never share the folder with anyone but the issuer. Kick-off cannot lock what the folder cannot show. A geography lock without a product URL is a posture. A security claim without a letter is a wish. Wishes do not get a live row.
If those cannot be produced, work does not start.
This feature is the index we actually use, the things we refuse to host, and the way a room feeds the register rather than a raise.
