The unfashionable hour before publish

Pre-approval means a human who owns the register reads the artefact before the artefact is public. Not a bot that looks for banned words — though a list helps. A human, because the failure is usually a cousin: “review in progress” becoming “the audit’s done,” “no public sale” becoming “allocations soon,” a geography lock dissolved by “wherever you are.”

The hour is unfashionable because it ruins the content calendar as imagined by people who have never been on the hook for a sentence. Good. Calendars that cannot absorb a hold are calendars for a different industry. We would rather ship three approved pieces than fourteen that need a Friday night apology.

Operationally, the brief goes out with the live claims, the prohibited list, the disclosure language, the geography, and a deadline that includes the approval window. The creator drafts. The desk reads. Edits go back. Only then: publish, capture, archive, log the claims used. The weekly report is that list, not a screenshot of impressions.

Community moderators are creators in slow motion. They answer “when token” a hundred times a week. The community handbook is a creator brief for people you do not pay per post.
